VINCENT KHOUNI

Vincent Khouni, frontman of the Montreal garage rock band Double Date with Death (DDWD), has set sail on a solo journey—like a message cast out to the waves—to explore a more intimate universe. Teaming up with multi-instrumentalist Emmanuel Alias (ALIAS) on drums and production, he crafts music that sits somewhere between the warm analog sounds of the late '60s and contemporary experimentation.

A visual artist in his spare time (specializing in collage and painting), Khouni loves playing with imagery, words, and their echoes. Following exhibitions in Montreal and Europe, as well as collaborations with various magazines, he transposes his sense of collage into songwriting, treating each track like a blank canvas. Equally comfortable in both French and English, Khouni constantly enriches his sonic palette, shaping songs where texture and atmosphere matter just as much as melody.

In September 2023, he unveiled his debut album 8:12pm, which was praised by Le Devoir as "a dose of comfort." On stage, he has shared his world through standout performances at festivals and venues like Coup de cœur francophone and Les Francouvertes, as well as opening for acts such as Bon Enfant, Alex Burger, Bibi Club, Alphonse Bisaillon, LARAW, and Yuma Abe.

In 2025, Vincent returned with Accident, a four-track EP crafted alongside Emmanuel Alias. This darker project navigates between alternative pop and ambient electronic music, tinged with post-rock elements. Electronic rhythms blend with dreamy synths and textured guitars. Drawing inspiration from contemporaries like Flavien Berger, James Blake, and Bon Iver, the singer-songwriter continues his musical odyssey.

With Accident, Khouni draws a clear line between poetry and modernity, right where emotions merge into the very fabric of sound.
