VINNI PAYNE
Vinni Payne is a 28-year-old singer-songwriter originally from Lac-Delage, Stoneham. Rooted in hip-hop—having started writing his first lyrics at the age of 14—he is now evolving toward a more indie/folk sound, driven by an introspective sensitivity and a deeply organic aesthetic. In March 2026, he released his debut EP, La vie est belle, a project that fully crystallizes this new artistic direction.
Although he revolved around the rap scene for a long time, his musical universe is rooted in the artists who soundtracked his childhood: The Doors, The Rolling Stones, and the songwriters who shaped his approach. His influences span different eras, ranging from Mac Miller to more contemporary references like Dominic Fike and Les Louanges. His work occasionally evokes the raw softness of Bob Dylan or the narrative signature of André “Dédé” Fortin.
Minimalist and deeply anchored in the Quebec wilderness, his visual style is expressed through a simple, authentic, and nostalgic lens, where the guitar takes center stage. Vinni Payne writes songs of lost love, transition, and renewal, blending lucidity, vulnerability, and hope. It is music that seeks to understand, to soothe, and to rebuild.
