DOGO SUICIDE
With the idea that every show could be their last - a band named Dogo Suicide has every reason to die prematurely - the noise rock trio from Quebec quickly became known as much for their unbridled performances as for the smell of burning plastic that filled the venues as they left the stage; legend has it that bass amps were allergic to their bassist's malevolent powerchords.
While inspired by the atmosphere of the seedy taverns of Quebec's lower town, the trio enjoys navigating its members' multiple influences while playing with punk codes with casualness and impetuosity. Reviewers, journalists, and podcasters have always had a certain difficulty in qualifying Dogo Suicide's musical genre. Here, finally, is an informed answer: post-everything, but pretty punk overall. Honorable mention to the kind reviewer who once said that "restricting them to a punk band would be the equivalent of saying Mr. Puffs are just a dessert."
Although they haven't yet released their debut album, Dogo Suicide has embraced their hyperactive streak since the release of their debut EP "Sexe pour les yeux" in September 2021. The young trio has since performed nearly 100 times and released several EPs, all of which were nominated for the Quebec Alternative Independent Music Gala. The group has performed at festivals such as Montreal's Pouzza Fest, Quebec City's OFF Festival, Trois-Rivières' FestiVoix, and more recently, Belgium's FrancoFaune Festival.
