À propos

FRANKY FADE Born in Gaspé, but raised on Montreal's South Shore, Franky Fade (François Marceau on the baptistaire) developed a passion for music at the age of five. Mesmerized by the 88 keys of his school piano, he begged his parents to enroll him in lessons and spent several years perfecting his mastery of the instrument. After a stint in the music department at Cégep Saint-Laurent, he discovered hip-hop culture and fell in love with this authentic and liberating style, first thanks to Kendrick Lamar's ambitious To Pimp a Butterfly, then by diving into the music of A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, and MF DOOM. It was at this time that Franky formed the group Original Gros Bonnet (OGB) with friends, initially as a pianist, but quickly traded the keyboard for the microphone, writing having become his main means of expression. Thanks to the group's explosive hip-hop, he traveled across Quebec and graced the stages of major festivals (Francos de Montréal, Osheaga, Santa Teresa), in addition to winning the 23rd edition of Francouvertes in 2019. Alongside these experiences with OGB, his writing was highlighted during multiple appearances on the show Plus on est de fous, plus on lit, on Radio-Canada radio. After the release of OGB's second LP in the summer of 2020, the rapper began writing his first solo album, due out in 2021 on the Bonsound label. A much more personal project in both form and content, as he composed the majority of the tracks in addition to all the lyrics. Through multiple variations of catchy, danceable, and uninhibited hip-hop, Franky Fade offers an exploration of the paradoxes that exist within the artist.

VALORANO A musician since the age of 16, Frédérick Vallerand, AKA Valorano, was born in Quebec City on October 18, 2000. Originally a beatmaker, he started writing lyrics and rapping with his friends in high school. It was there that he fell in love with rap and the culture surrounding it. Starting in 2020, he focused fully on his project and participated in rap battles (WordUP!) in Montreal as well as shows in Quebec City and Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. In early December 2021, the rapper signed a promising deal with the record company Soluté Records and is working on a first mixtape to be released in 2022.
