LA POEXE

LA POEXE is a baritone guitar and drums power duo. The ensemble offers mostly instrumental compositions occasionally punctuated by short, thunderous poems with words that could seem cynical and nihilistic, if they were intelligible, and labyrinthine structures performed with a vigor evoking extreme sports or a gothic version of Elvis on crystal meth. Among other things, one can appreciate the surprising heaviness and timbre of the unusual baritone guitar, a muscular application of composed time signatures as well as arrangements in which good old power chords happily rub shoulders with voicings with a high coefficient of harmonic friction.
